Maastricht University has a lower and a higher tuition fee. To find out which rate applies to you, you can use the click model on the right.*
To avoid any unpleasant surprises, please check carefully which tuition fee applies to you. This is all the more important given that big changes have been made recently in the tuition fees that students are required to pay. Now, not only is your nationality an important factor, but so too is where you live and whether this is your first or second study programme. Also, the tuition fee rate may change during your studies – for example, if you move house – even in the graduation phase.

Please note: the Dutch government has adopted a bill penalising students who take too long to finish their studies!
How do I pay?
Once you have registered (or re-registered) via Studielink, you will receive a message asking you to pay your tuition fee for the coming academic year. You may already have received this. We recommend that you pay the full amount via a one-time, direct bank transfer. It is also possible to pay in installments through a debit authorisation form, but note that you will need a Dutch bank account to do so.
For a smooth start to the new academic year, you need to pay your tuition fee (or return the authorisation form) within two weeks after receiving this message. In some cases you may also need to submit extra documents. Please note that if you do not complete your registration and organise payment of your tuition fee on time, you will not be permitted to start your study programme!
